Who knew sandwiches could be so good?! Please excuse all of the flyaway hairs I was experiencing that day, tied up hair is never a good look for me with all of my baby hair. Anyway, it might just be that I am only twenty years old and my cooking skills are novice but the only things I think of when it comes to sandwiches are PB&J, grilled cheese, and ham. Pom Pom's Teahouse & Sandwicheria is definitely nothing close to that, they have a wide variety of sandwiches and as in their name, teas. I may be a giant coffee addict, but I can definitely enjoy a good cup of tea.
This was definitely not my first time eating at this establishment, my boyfriend actually makes fun of me because I take a lot of my friends here when they want to try something new and I know they've never been before. Even though this place is not actually a new find, it was definitely a find I needed to share. The first time I came here I ordered Mama Ling Ling's Thanksgiving, which is actually what Ading Alexa ordered when we went. It is everything you think would be part of a Thanksgiving dinner, in a sandwich. Turkey, cheese (Gouda to be exact), mashed potatoes, cream cheese, chutney (which I actually don't like so I ask for it out), and even a side of gravy! If you're hungry, I highly recommend that sandwich. Another favorite, which is what I ordered came from a recommendation from the waiter on a previous visit. It's the Viet Pom but instead of the turkey that it is normally made with, substituted with the Asian pulled pork and just as the waiter said, reminds me of bahn mi. If you happen to go and want to get the full meal, I highly recommend getting the chef's pasta as your side which is a spicy turkey mac & cheese and there is really no way to describe it except that it is the bomb dot com and it just needs to be tried in person. I have not really tried a lot of teas, but from the few I have tried my favorite is the Japanese Morganteau, which is one of their green teas.
But as always, if you happen to check out this place on your own, be sure to share your experience with me in the comments! Till next time.
